Where the World Comes to Learn

Every year, thoracic surgeons from across the globe travel to Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital to observe, train, and collaborate with one of the world's highest-volume thoracic surgery programs.

Validated by Peers Worldwide

When a thoracic surgeon from Europe, South America, or the Middle East chooses to spend weeks or months training at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, that decision represents the strongest possible validation of clinical excellence — recognition from peers who understand the field.

Visiting surgeons consistently highlight the extraordinary case volume and variety at SPH: twelve operating rooms running simultaneously, 30–40 thoracic procedures daily, and exposure to rare and complex presentations that most surgeons encounter only a handful of times in their careers.

This international training activity also means that our hospital already has deep experience working with international medical professionals — a foundation that directly supports our care for international patients.
